Because of marriage laws and sometimes because of choice, committed couples do not marry. This often leaves them with specific life and estate planning problems  that most other law firms are not focused on solving. Our firm can provide you with all of the legal documents and tools needed to become legally bound to each other to the extent the law allows you to be legally bound.  The Law Offices of Jeffrey G. Marsocci, PLLC is committed to helping ALL families achieve their goals.

All of your property can be combined, you can grant each other full authority to act on each other’s behalf for financial and healthcare matters, and you will have a plan for distributing your estates to each other. If desired, some or all property can be left separate and given to others. It all depends on your wishes. The legal documents include:

bullet

A Revocable Living Trust designed to maximize legal protection of your assets from outsiders while allowing both of you to control your property as you see fit and avoiding probate,

bullet

A Domestic Partnership Property Agreement outlining certain property arrangements to avoid gift tax pitfalls,

bullet

A Last Will and Testament for each of you specifically designed to thwart Will contests,

bullet

A Financial Power of Attorney for each of you allowing the other to act on their behalf in most legal and financial transactions,

bullet

A Healthcare Power of Attorney for each of you allowing the other to make healthcare decisions if one of you is incapacitated , and

bullet

A Living Will for each of you directing a doctor to withhold life support and artificial nutrition if you are in a persistent vegetative state or you are terminal and incurable.

Our services are attorney-client privileged and confidential. It is our intent to give you the legal protection you desire for each other and your property. Click on the highlighted portion or on the buttons to the left to read more about each document.

Please keep in mind that these are services rendered by an accredited law firm for North Carolina residents only. We are not selling a legal "kit" designed to work in all 50 states. If you wish to have similar services in a state other than North Carolina, then please contact an attorney in your jurisdiction.

If you wish to retain our services, then please proceed to the Questionnaire and send it to us so we can begin reviewing your information as soon as possible. While our firm will require more information and will wish to speak with you, the answers to the questionnaire will greatly assist us in getting the process started.
